## How Scrimba billing works in one minute

There is only one paid product: Pro. There is no per-course purchase and no lifetime buyout, so every billing question reduces to how you pay for Pro and how you stop.

- Two billing cycles. Monthly or annual. Annual works out to roughly half the per-month rate, so if you will study for three months or more, annual is the cheaper unit. Weigh it on the [Pro vs Free comparison](https://scrimbaguide.tech/docs/pricing/pro-vs-free/).
- Region-aware pricing. Scrimba applies purchasing-power parity automatically, so the price you see can be lower than the headline rate depending on your country. No coupon needed.
- One renewal switch. A subscription renews until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next charge but keeps your access to the end of the period; it does not refund the current term. - Your progress is yours. Cancel, lapse, and resubscribe months later, and your completed lessons are still on your account.

**Q: What's the difference between Pro and Free?**

Pro unlocks all courses, the four career paths, unlimited challenges, the Pro-only Discord channels, and path certificates. Free gives roughly 24 full courses and 10 interactive challenges total across the platform, plus 10 Scrimba Explain videos for life against 100 a month on Pro. Inside a free course, Pro shows up as the Solo Project rows and the certificate; inside a Pro course, a few scrims (usually the first ones) carry a SAMPLE badge you can watch before paying. ### Cancellation

**Q: Do I lose my progress if I cancel?**

### Pricing Stability

**Q: Do Scrimba prices change often?**

Scrimba occasionally adjusts pricing for new subscribers. Your rate is locked for your current billing period. Check your account or the pricing page before renewing to see the rate that applies next.

**Q: Will my subscription price increase at renewal?**

Only if Scrimba has raised prices since you subscribed. Check your account settings or contact help@scrimba.com before your renewal date to confirm. Annual and student plans hold the best long-term rate.
