In plain English: we do not sell your data. We use Google Analytics to understand which guides help readers. If you are in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland, analytics cookies stay off until you accept them in the cookie banner; you can change your choice any time from "Cookie settings" in the footer. At Scrimba Guide, accessible from https://scrimbaguide.tech, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors. This Privacy Policy document contains types of information that is collected and recorded by Scrimba Guide and how we use it.

Information We Collect​

Logic Files (Logs)​

Like many other Web sites, Scrimba Guide makes use of log files. These files merely log visitors to the site - usually a standard procedure for hosting companies and a part of hosting services' analytics. The information collected by log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date/time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks.

Cookies and Web Beacons​

ScrimbaGuide.tech uses 'cookies'. These cookies are used to store information including visitors' preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users' experience by customizing our web page content based on visitors' browser type and/or other information.

We use Google Consent Mode v2.

  • EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland: analytics and advertising storage are denied by default. Google Analytics then receives only cookieless pings without identifiers. Analytics cookies are set only after you click "Accept" in the cookie banner.
  • Other regions: analytics storage is on by default; advertising storage is off.
  • Your choice is stored in your browser (sg-consent in local storage) and can be changed at any time from "Cookie settings" in the site footer. Declining is as easy as accepting.

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand traffic: which pages people read, where they come from, and which links they click. We show no ads, and advertising storage, ad user data and ad personalization are denied in every region.

Links to Scrimba and Udemy are affiliate links. They carry our affiliate id, and they pass the address of the page you clicked from, so Scrimba and Udemy can see which of our guides sent you. Once you arrive, they may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies.
