Scrimba is evolving rapidly from a frontend-focused platform to a comprehensive full-stack and AI engineering school. Keeping up with their release schedule can be tricky, so we've compiled everything that is officially confirmed for 2026.
Coming Soon (Confirmed)
According to Scrimba's official course roadmap, the following courses are currently in development or production:
1. Learn Next.js (Section 3)
Status: Shipped This one has landed. The third module, "Making Data Flow," is now live at 3.9 hours and 64 lessons, covering server actions and mutations. It is the largest of the three modules and roughly doubled the course, which now runs about 8.5 hours. See Learn Next.js.
2. Learn DevOps
Status: Coming Soon Bridging the gap between code and production. Expect coverage of CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and perhaps some cloud infrastructure basics (AWS/DigitalOcean).
3. Advanced TypeScript
Status: Coming Soon
For those who have mastered the basics. This course will dive into generics, utility types (Pick, Omit, Partial), and advanced type inference.

If you haven't checked Scrimba in a while, you might have missed these major releases:
- Advanced React, expanded: Grew from three modules to six, adding Persistence, Authentication, and TypeScript in React. The course went from about 13 hours to 18.8, which is the largest single content addition on the platform this year.
- Learn Next.js, Section 3: "Making Data Flow" shipped at 3.9 hours and 64 lessons, taking the course to roughly 8.5 hours.
- Learn Python, rebuilt: In August 2026 Scrimba replaced its free Python course with a new one by Treasure Porth: 4.1 hours, three modules, three projects (an expense splitter, a word-scramble game, a karaoke queue manager). Shorter than the version it replaced, and it stops before dictionaries, file handling, and classes. The old course is still free on its own page.
- Learn Cybersecurity (opens in a new tab): A standalone 5-hour course on auth, input safety, rate limiting, and the security mindset.
- Build AI Agents: Bob Ziroll's hands-on course on autonomous agents that take actions, use tools, and loop until a goal is achieved (shipped from the roadmap).
- Unit Testing: A focused course on testing your code as you write it, covering Vitest/Jest-style patterns (shipped from the roadmap).
- Intro to AI Engineering: Updated for 2026 with the latest models.
- The Backend Developer Path: A massive new dedicated career path.
- Learn Context Engineering: How to optimize context windows for LLMs.
- Intro to Model Context Protocol (MCP): Connecting AI to your local files and data.
- Authentication & Identity: Deep dive into auth for the Backend path.
The Shift to "Fullstack + AI"

There is no official Python Career Path on the roadmap yet, and Scrimba remains heavily focused on the JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystem. The one signal worth noting: in August 2026 Scrimba rebuilt its free Learn Python course from scratch, handing it to Treasure Porth (a Frontend and Fullstack path contributor) and restructuring it into modules with three projects. That is path-team treatment applied to a standalone course. It is also shorter than the version it replaced, so read it as maintenance rather than the start of a Python track.
